How refunds work
Here's how members receive a refund from Poparide:
- We issue the refund
As soon as we issue the refund, the funds are immediately returned to your bank. You can access your receipt with proof of refund by going to Menu > Payments in our app or website. - Your bank processes the refund
Once we have issued the refund, your bank may need 5-10 business days to process the funds. This is the processing time of the bank and is outside of our control. At this point, it is up to your bank to issue the refund.
Why don't I see a refund on my bank statement?
If you don’t see a refund on your bank statement after 10 business days you will need to contact your bank for more information.
If your booking was not approved by the driver and you still see a charge on your bank statement, it's likely your bank is still processing the refund.
If you were charged for a trip that was cancelled by the driver, please refer to this article.
Why did I get charged if my booking wasn’t approved?
When you request to book on Poparide, we perform an authorization on your card and you are only charged if the driver approves your booking request.
Some banks might display an authorization as a charge. In this case, as long as the booking was not approved, you will see a refund on your bank statement within 5-10 business days. This delay is imposed by your bank and not by Poparide, as all funds are returned immediately on our end.
If you do not see the refund on your bank statement after 10 business days, please contact your bank.
An authorization was made on my card but I don't see a refund
If your booking request doesn’t get approved before the trip departure (i.e. it expires, you withdraw it or the driver declines your booking or cancels your trip), we release the authorization from your payment card. In most cases, the line item for the authorization on your bank statement simply disappears.
Some financial institutions may display an authorization as a charge on your bank statement. In this case, the authorization release will appear as a refund from Poparide on your bank statement within 5-10 business days.
