If you’re waiting for a refund and haven’t seen it on your bank statement yet, here’s how the refund process works and what you can do.
How refunds work
Our refund process is:
Issue the refund: As soon as we process your refund, the funds are immediately sent back to your bank. You can view your receipt and proof of refund by going to Menu > Payments in the Poparide app or website.
Your bank processes the refund: After Poparide issues the refund, your bank may take 5-10 business days to process it. This time frame depends on your bank, and is beyond our control.
If you don’t see the refund after 10 business days and you have been issued a Poparide receipt, please contact your bank for more information on the status of your refund.
Why did I get charged if my booking wasn’t approved?
When you request a booking on Poparide, we pre-authorize the payment on your card, but you’re only charged if the driver approves your booking. Some banks display this pre-authorization as a charge.
If your booking was not approved, you will see the refund on your bank statement within 5-10 business days. This delay is due to your bank's processing time, not Poparide. We release the funds immediately.
If you still don’t see the refund after 10 business days, contact your bank.
An authorization was made on my card, but I don’t see a refund
If your booking request wasn’t approved (i.e., the request expired, you withdrew it, the driver declined it, or cancelled the trip), we’ll release the pre-authorization on your payment card. Typically, the authorization will simply disappear from your bank statement.
However, some banks show pre-authorizations as charges. In that case, the release of the authorization will show up as a refund within 5-10 business days.
