What does Request to book mean?
Updated over 3 months ago

Request to book allows drivers to approve or decline bookings for their trip manually. This gives drivers full control over who joins their ride.

How does Request to book work?

When passengers want to join your trip, they submit a booking request by entering their card details on Poparide. This creates a payment authorization for the full trip cost, ensuring they have sufficient funds if you approve the booking.

As the driver, you’ll receive the booking request and can either approve or decline it:

  • Approve the booking request: The payment is collected in full, confirming the passenger’s spot on your trip.

  • Decline the booking request: The payment authorization is released, and no charge is made to the passenger’s card.

Expiry time

Passengers can set an expiry time for their booking request, ranging from 1 – 24 hours. The booking request will automatically expire if you don’t respond within this timeframe. This allows the passenger to find another ride. If their previous request expires, passengers can submit a new booking request.

Cancellation policies for Request to book

Passengers can withdraw their booking request at no charge before it’s approved. If the request expires, no charge is made. However, if a booking has been approved, cancellation fees will apply. For more details, please refer to our Passenger Cancellation Policy.
