I had a Hell of a time trying to get home this week.
On Sunday, some person posted a ride offer but no pick up point. I wrote this person and he replied to me 80 minutes before he was scheduled to depart with 3 open seats to fill, to say I was too late to ask for the ride.
If that was the case, why was the ad still posted?
There should be a: This ad expires (time selection) hrs/mins before departure feature for drivers just as there is the: "I need a reply by" feature for passengers.
I was not able to find another ride that night.
The following day, Monday, I also attempted to book a ride with someone, only to learn that that person was cancelling the offer about 90 minutes before departure.
Drivers on Pop-A-Ride should be asked for a deposit when posting a ride, a portion of which goes to every passenger who booked/attempted to book depending of how long prior to the ride they pull their offer.
Fortunately, I was able to find another ride home, though other means on that day.
Relying on Pop a Ride got me home well over 24 hours later than I had expected. I missed a whole day's work/pay because of it.
Drivers who post then pull offers frequently make the site unusable for those of us looking for ride. If we are to be dependable when we book, drivers should be expected to be equally dependable when they post. Those drivers who do pull offers frequently should be banned from posting here.
I am not at all impressed.
