I've heard of this happening, but it happened to me yesterday/today. A rider who is registered with poparide booked a ride for a friend who isn't registered. She public messaged me before hand, and I advised her that I wasn't comfortable doing that as I don't know who the person is, what they look like, any reviews, etc. She went ahead and booked anyway. It turned out fine, but I was upset that I was basically forced to do it, since I make my rides insta-book for ease on both ends. I realize that is my own fault, but perhaps a flaw in the system. This also happened to my husband about a month ago.
What can be done about this type of situation? I advised the person to get her friend to sign up for poparide to make it safer and easier for everyone involved. It also creates a way more comfortable experience for everyone!
Thanks for any thoughts
