Pop provides a reliable service by collecting payments in advance for bookings.
We do this to ensure cars are filled with committed people and so that there is no need to carry cash in the vehicle, making the ride more enjoyable for everyone.
When is a payment charged?
We place an authorization on your card when you place a Booking Request.
If the Booking Request is approved by the driver, we capture the authorization and your card is charged.
If the driver declines your Booking Request or the trip is cancelled, we release the authorization and your card is not charged. Depending on your bank, you might see a charge on your card and experience a delay in the funds being released.
Please note we hold your payment until your trip is complete before transferring it to the driver. If the driver doesn’t show up or there are any other issues, we will process a refund.
The 15% booking fee is calculated from your booking's subtotal, which is the price per seat multiplied by the number of seats you're booking.
For example, if you're booking a seat for $10, you will pay $11.50:
- $10 goes to the driver
- $1.50 is our booking fee
We accept online payments with credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We use Stripe, a secure payment system to process all payments. We do not use Paypal to collect payments.
Currently we do not accept any other methods of payment, but we might in the future.
Updating your credit card
You can update your credit card during booking. After clicking on Book now, a booking dialogue will appear, simply click on use another card to update your credit card.
Cancellations & Refunds
Because cancelling can leave the driver with empty seats, there is a penalty that will be applied for cancelling a trip with less than 24 hours notice.
