When driving from College Station to Houston (100 miles), going 75 mph instead of 65 mph only saves about 12 minutes but increases risk and discomfort for passengers. Speeding doesn't significantly decrease travel time but does increase the danger.
Winter driving considerations
In winter, ice and occasional snow can occur on Texas highways, especially in North Texas and the Panhandle. We strongly recommend reducing your speed by 10-15 mph below the posted limit to lower your chances of skidding and losing control.
