Legality of pricing
To comply with Poparide's guidelines for non-commercial, cost-sharing activity, drivers must ensure that a Poparide passenger's contribution does not exceed the vehicle's shareable operating costs, such as gas, insurance, and maintenance. Poparide is not a transportation network company (TNC) and drivers are not permitted to earn a profit from trips posted.
Our pricing model considers these costs, and aims to allow drivers to ask for a fair contribution on their trip based on the distance and current gas prices.

Maximum price per mile
In order to maintain fair pricing, Poparide currently sets a maximum price of $0.23 cents per mile.
The maximum price is based on average gas costs in the United States and is set below the IRS standard mileage rate, ensuring contributions remain within cost-recovery limits.
Recommended prices
Recommended prices on each route are calculated based on the:
distance of the trip and the cost of driving
pricing data for other trips on Poparide
prices offered by our competition
To encourage bookings, it's recommended that drivers set their price at or below the recommended rate. Charging too much discourages passengers who might then look for cheaper alternatives.
